What if one good story could make someone fall in love with reading again?

At Malay Publications, this simple belief drives everything we create. In fact, we follow one simple rule: we never publish a story unless we truly love it ourselves.

Malay Publications began its journey just after the COVID lockdown in 2021. During those months when our family spent time together at home, one passion stood out clearly — our father Thomas Mathew’s lifelong love for comics. For him, comics were never just books; they were a world of imagination and learning.
​
His long-standing dream was to bring Malayalam editions of Amar Chitra Katha back to readers in Kerala. With his determined “I don’t give up easily” spirit, that dream slowly turned into a family publishing journey.
​
In the beginning, we collaborated with Amar Chitra Katha, and we were fortunate to receive the exclusive global rights to publish Amar Chitra Katha in Malayalam for two years. Our work initially involved translation, proofreading, layout design, and distribution. Over time, this experience evolved into a complete publishing process.

One of our proudest milestones during this journey was translating and publishing 42 chapters of the Mahabharata in Malayalam, making these legendary stories accessible to a new generation of readers.

Today, Malay Publications is based in Kottayam, Kerala, and our focus has grown beyond collaborations. We now publish original books in both English and Malayalam, creating stories for readers of all ages.

Our mission, “Back to Reading,” is built on a powerful idea — to bring the joy of books back into everyday life. In a world filled with screens and shrinking attention spans, we believe visual storytelling through comics, graphic novels, and illustrated books can inspire a new generation to read, imagine, and dream.

Our publications include comics, graphic novels, children's picture books, novels, activity books, fiction stories, and educational reading materials, often inspired by Indian culture, mythology, real-life stories, and imaginative adventures. Our originals include Malayappulayan, CID Anto, Kumba, Vanarajan etc.,

Malay Publications also works closely with writers, illustrators, and creative storytellers, providing a platform to develop original ideas and bring unique characters and stories to life.

Our long-term vision is to grow into a global storytelling platform from India, creating content that can travel beyond books into digital media, animation, and visual entertainment.
