HOW IT STARTED
Four years, four turning points
2021
A lockdown, and a father's dream
Malay Publications began just after the COVID lockdown. During those months at home together, one passion stood out — our father's lifelong love for comics. For him they were never just books but a world of imagination and learning. His long-standing dream was to bring Malayalam editions of Amar Chitra Katha back to readers in Kerala, and with an "I don't give up easily" spirit, that dream became a family publishing journey.

We collaborated with Amar Chitra Katha and for two years held the global rights to publish their titles in Malayalam. It started with translation, proofreading, layout and distribution — and grew into a complete publishing process of our own.
2021-23
Milestone
Forty-two chapters of the Mahabharata
Translated and published in Malayalam — putting those stories in front of a generation that might otherwise never have read them. It remains the work we're proudest of from those years.
Today we publish original books in Malayalam and English — comics, graphic novels, picture books, novels and activity books, drawn from Indian culture, mythology, real lives and invented adventures.
